Built on the shoulders of incredible open source projects.
About
NgMd is a project by Kam (@erkamyaman).
A markdown-first docs starter for Angular, built on AnalogJS. Drop a .md file under src/content/, get a routed page with a site frame, theming, and authoring components.
Credits
None of this exists without it. The framework is the floor everything else stands on.
By Brandon Roberts and contributors. The meta-framework powering every piece of NgMd's runtime: file-based routing, SSR, markdown content collections, the build pipeline.
The spark came from his 2023 AnalogJS discussion, which named the gap NgMd was built to fill.
Also building blocks
Dev server and build tool.
Styling system every component uses.
VS Code-grade syntax highlighting in markdown code blocks.
Markdown rendering pipeline.
Icon set used in the site frame.
Popularised the "own your components" idea that NgMd adopts.
The Apache-licensed search engine powering the local Cmd+K palette: BM25 ranking, fuzzy matching, tokenisation.
The hosted alternative the palette swaps to when site.algolia is configured. Free for open-source docs.
The TypeScript AST wrapper powering API reference auto-generation. api-gen.plugin.ts globs sources declared in ngmd.api.ts, walks each one through ts-morph, and emits a `SymbolRecord` per exported declaration for the /api routes and palette symbol search.
Inspiration came from the docs sites of VitePress, Starlight, Nextra, and Docusaurus, which set the bar for what a modern docs starter should feel like.
